Rebecca has implemented an easy-to-follow and gentle approach for both parent and child.
Taught by sleep guru Kim West (author of Good Night, Sleep Tight) she believes she will have the sleep solutions you exhausted parents are looking for.
"One in four babies have sleep problems and whilst my baby did not, I listened to other mums cry and become emotional because there was no one to help them. They felt alone, ashamed and EXHAUSTED. They called for help and only got poorly or vaguely trained expensive "consultants" who believed in controlled crying. I felt helpless for them and wanted to do something, anything! So I searched for a sleep method that I really believed in and came across Kim West and her course for a gentler approach to sleep training. I spent months studying under her, reading, talking to mothers and taking on pro bono cases in order to really grasp her proven program. I have integrated my understanding of child development when studying to be a teacher, my knowledge of babies and feeding from my doula studies and relaxation techniques from studying to be an infant massage therapist and incorporated all this into developing a personalised sleep and routine program for each client."
Rebecca has completed the Gentle Sleep Coach course which is a one of the most comprehensive and few dedicated sleep courses in the world, learning from Kim West herself as well as top lactation specialists, newborn experts and several leading paediatrians. To obtain certification as a Gentle Sleep Coach, she participated in over 80 hours of training and lectures, underwent multiple exams and performed ongoing advanced training and education. The course intensively covered multiple aspects of child development and sleep theory including basic counselling, sleep science, behavioural modification techniques, secure attachment theory, supporting the breastfeeding mum and so much more. Prominent and renowned specialists were pivotal in imparting their experience and practice skills during Rebecca’s studies. These included Dr Lewis Kass (Paediatric Respiratory Physician and Director of Paediatric Sleep Centre, Yale University), Shoshana Bennett PhD (clinical psychologist, author, radio-host and authority on Postpartum Depression) and Jodi Jennings (occupational therapist specialising in Sleep and Sensory Processing Disorders).
Drawing upon her training as an early childhood educator, infant massage therapist, pre- and post-natal doula and sleep consultant, she has a uniquely multidisciplinary approach to your issues and thus can help you and your family develop a personalized and holistic sleep plan that suits you and your child. Rebecca is also very excited to be studying a bachelor of Midwifery and is so excited to share her knowledge with you all.
Rebecca has two daughters, Mikah is 5 years old and Rafaella is 3 years old so we can all often can be found at yoga lessons, ballet lessons, swimming lessons and at the beach.
